About Nicholas
Nicholas is a journalist, writer, mental health and disability advocate, and rising social media influencer from South Wales.
Aged 14, Nicholas was diagnosed with autism, anxiety disorder and OCD. The diagnoses came at a time when he was struggling with severe bullying and was told by teachers he’d fail in life due to his disabilities.
But he didn’t believe the haters and started his own tech blog, which grew an international readership and caught the attention of his local newspaper. Not long after, he began writing a weekly column for The South Wales Evening Post, the very same newspaper that published an article about his blog.
Writing was a passion for Nicholas as a teen, serving as a creative outlet during a difficult time in his life. And it still is now. Today, he’s an acclaimed freelance journalist who has written for the likes of the Financial Times, New York Post, Forbes, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, Metro, The Standard, Business Insider, HuffPost and many more.
While technology is Nicholas’ main area of coverage, he’s a strong believer in using one’s public platform to spread awareness of pressing topics and to provide a voice for those who may not have one. As such, he’s had the opportunity to write many mental health-related articles over the years - most notably a review of Reading Festival’s disability services for The Guardian, an article about dating as an autistic person for HuffPost, and a review of an AI therapy tool for the Metro that saw him discuss the topic on BBC Radio 4.
Outside of writing, Nicholas runs a fast-growing TikTok channel where he shares his love of vibrant interiors, fabulous pajamas, his latest shopping hauls and posts about living with autism. The account has amassed nearly 110k followers in less than a year, with over 10 posts surpassing 1 million views. Nicholas also uses TikTok to spread awareness of autism and the importance of being your true, authentic self. It’s caught the attention of news outlets like Wales Online and National Cymru, which have profiled Nicholas in feature pieces.
