Abbie Hills is a filmmaker, screenwriter and producer whose work centres female-led stories about youth, identity and the moments life arrives a beat too late. Her latest short, Folding In starring Rosie Jones, produced by The Dazey Hills Company alongside Fealy Films and Gobby Girls, is the clearest expression yet of her voice: sharp, funny, and unflinching about disability without ever making it the whole story.
It's a voice shaped by 15 years in the industry. Abbie got her first credit as an actor at 15, and has since worked across the business, from a costume trainee on a Hollywood set to one of the UK's first trained Access Coordinators, with credits including Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Silent Witness and The Responder. At 23 she founded The Dazey Hills Company, now representing over 40 clients.
As a speaker, Abbie draws on all of her experience. The sets, the scripts, the business she built from scratch, and living with cerebral palsy in an industry still learning what inclusion actually looks like. She's spoken at Cannes, Edinburgh International Film Festival and BFI Flare, and has been recognised with a National Diversity Award, a Women of the Future Award (2024), and a place on the 2025 D-30 Diversability Impact List. She's a BAFTA Connect member and a 2026 WFTV mentee.
Abbie’s latest short Immaterial has now been nominated for 3 BIFA qualifying festivals, and one BAFTA qualifier festival.
